Essex County Cricket Board organise a number of competitions for youth teams.

Indoor Championship 2009

WITHAM CRICKET CLUB WIN THE ESSEX INDOOR FINALS
 
Witham Cricket Club beat Harold Wood in the finals of the ECCB indoor finals held at the Indoor Cricket Centre at Chelmsford on Saturday 10th January.
 
In the first semi final Hadleigh & Thundersley scored 66 for 4 off their 12 overs and Witham scored 67 for 1 to go through to the final
 
In the second semi final Harold wood scored 124 for 4 off their 12 overs with Hockley reply with 105 for 5, Harold Wood winning by 19 runs
 
In the final Harold Wood batted first and scored 106 for 4 off their 12 overs, and Witham comfortably passed this total scoring 111 for 1 off 10.5 overs.
 
Witham will now represent Essex in the next round of the National part of the competition, and have been drawn at home to Middlesex. We wish them well for the future rounds.

Matchplay

Sponsored by the Essex Boundary Club - Matchplay is an U16 club team competition for the Trevor Bailey Shield running from May to September.

The top two teams from each group go through to the quarter finals. ECCB provide the venues for the semi finals and final, along with match referees and umpires.

The Peter Coe Cup

Sponsored by Havering Lighting The Peter Coe Cup is an U13 club team tournament running from May to August.

The competition is played in groups and the top four teams then go onto the semi finals. ECCB provide the venues and umpires for the semi finals and final along with match referees and umpires.

Mini Matchplay

Mini Matchplay is a Kwik Cricket festival for U11 Club teams supported by Essex Boundary Club.

Teams are divided into groups for a round robin competition lasting about three hours in total.
