Successful Girls Coaching Course at Saffron Walden
During the school half term Saffron Walden Youth Academy
together with Essex County Cricket Board Cricket Development
department ran a two day coaching session for girls at the
Anglo American Memorial ground in Saffron Walden. 19 girls
of varying ages attended and were coached by coaches from
the E.C.C.B.
On the second day of the course Charlotte Edwards, the England
Ladies Vice Captain, attended with a team of U13 aged girls
from Huntingdonshire to play an Essex U12 side.
Charlotte presented certificates to all of the girls attending
the course, signed autographs and had photographs taken
with the girls. During the match, that Essex won, a number
of the girls who attended the two day course were given
the opportunity to field for a number of overs.

Spirit of the Game |

|
| |
 |
"Cricket is a game that owes much
of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only
within the Laws, but also within the Spirit of the Game. Any action
which is seen to abuse this spirit causes injury to game itself." |
