Essex v Cambridgeshire U13s

The U-13 Girls had a very big win over an inexperienced Cambs U-13 side on Sunday 19th June.

Essex batted first and scored a massive 215 for 4 from their 30 overs. Beth Langston scoring her maiden half century for the county with 50 not out. Captain, Lauren Onojaife scored 43 and Victoria Yates 28 as all the girls that batted contributed to the total. This was also helped by 50 extras from Cambs.

Cambridgeshire were then overwhelmed by the Essex bowling which really showed the gulf between the two sides as Cambs were bowled out for 32 in 24 overs. The wickets shared by all the bowlers. A win for Essex by 183 runs.

Essex 215-4 (30 overs)
Beth Langston 50, Lauren Onojaife 43, Victoria Yates 28

Cambs 32 all out (24.5 overs)

  Spirit of the Game

"Cricket is a game that owes much of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only within the Laws, but also within the Spirit of the Game. Any action which is seen to abuse this spirit causes injury to game itself."
