Under 11 Girls lose against Kent
On Sunday 19th June Essex U11 girls hosted Kent girls at
Brentwood School. The Essex girl’s side include a
pupil from Brentwood Prep and a girl selected from the Essex
Youth Games the previous day.
The Essex captain again won the toss and invited Kent to
bat.
Quick running between the wickets by the Kent openers pushed
the run rate along until the Essex bowlers started to get
wickets. As always the Essex bowling was of a high standard
but at times their fielding let them down. Essex restricted
Kent to 110 for 8 from their 25 overs.
In reply the Essex openers got their side off to a great
start and they looked like they would overtake the Kent
score in no time. However it was not to be, the Kent bowlers
tightened up their line and their fielders improved causing
Essex to loose four quick wickets. Essex never recovered
from this and ended the day on 89 for 9.

Spirit of the Game |

|
| |
 |
"Cricket is a game that owes much
of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only
within the Laws, but also within the Spirit of the Game. Any action
which is seen to abuse this spirit causes injury to game itself." |
