Essex Under 11 Girls lose to Sussex

Essex U11 girls team travelled to the picturesque Lancing College in Sussex on Sunday 10th July to play Sussex girls. After a close match in the home fixture Essex, with two realist, hoped to turn the tables on their hosts.

Batting first Sussex put a reasonable score together of 122 for 4 off their allotted 25 overs, Essex fielded and batted well but the hard hitting Sussex batters found the boundary on a number of occasions.

With a reasonable batting line up Essex were confident that the 122 would not be a problem. They had not however bargained for the accurate bowling of the Sussex attack.

Essex lost wickets at a regular pace ending with just 41 all out. A very disappointing batting performance after such improved bowling and fielding left Essex well and truly beaten.
