Programme
Week Two
Warm up
Dynamic movements
Through cones, forward,

Differentiated approach with stop/ rolling skill if appropriate
to group.
Main Theme
Throwing
(Co-ordination, balance and agility) E.g., under arm feed
to wall/ target, to partner, repeat over arm. Wrist flick,
elbow flick – to full throws. Stable base, high
elbow etc. Progression into chase and retrieve stationery/moving
ball. (Theory can be brought in here regarding the boundary
etc. if time allows and the group are receptive.)
Game Activity
Lord's Game
Pull or drive, fed by coach fielders standing back behind
a designated line (indicated by cones) encouraged to return
the ball to the coach over arm.
Although the group have had no hitting practice the coach
should ensure that all children “HIT” the
ball even if this means providing a large cone for the
ball to be hit off.
Comments
During the warm up an added task for the pupils is for
tennis balls to be placed on tall cones for them to run
through thus incorporating awareness of environment and
conditions into this task.

Spirit of the Game |
| |
|
| |
 |
"Cricket is a game that owes much
of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only
within the Laws, but also within the Spirit of the Game. Any action
which is seen to abuse this spirit causes injury to game itself." |
